Important Tips
In order to assist U.S. parents in the processing of Immigrant Visas for their adopted children, the U.S. Embassy suggests the following:
- check and double check the validity dates on fingerprint clearances, home studies and I-600A forms;
- review the checklists to insure all documentary requirements are met;
- complete the medical exam(s) prior to the interview; and,
- help us help you by keeping to intake hours of 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. and established interview times.
In this way, delays, expense, and inconvenience can be avoided and minimized.
Appointments will be required to submit the I-600, supporting documents, and visa application materials. For complete information on procedures and requirements, as well as instructions for scheduling an appointment please refer to the website for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Moscow Field Office

Intercountry Adoptions in Russia – Information Updates We encourage American families in the process of adopting a child from Russia to provide information regarding what stage of the adoption process they are in to the Department of State's Office of Children's Issues using the subject line "Intercountry adoption in Russia - family update." An e-mail address has been set up for this correspondence: RussiaAdoption@state.gov. As the situation evolves, the Department of State will provide information directly to families that have contacted us. Updated information will also be posted on www.adoption.state.gov as it becomes available. U.S. citizen adoptive parents who have completed an adoption, received a Russian passport for their child, and have filed or are ready to file Form I-600 with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) who need to apply for the immigrant visa at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy should schedule appointments online with USCIS Moscow via www.infopass.uscis.gov. After making your appointment via INFOPASS, please inform the Immigrant Visa Unit of your appointment time by e-mail (MoscowConsularR@state.gov) or phone (7-495-728-5567). |
