June 16, 2010 - On June 5, AQMD conducted air sampling during a fire at the Pick Your Part scrap yard in Wilmington. AQMD's analysis of the air samples collected showed no acute air quality impacts on neighboring communities as a result of the fire. More (PDF, 868 KB)

June 8, 2010 – As part of its Climate Change regulation, AQMD has adopted a new protocol to help businesses quantify greenhouse gas emission reductions from boiler and process heater efficiency projects. AQMD-approved protocols are voluntary and are available for use by private parties, or AQMD through pooled mitigation funds, to generate certified greenhouse gas emission reductions. More

June 25, 2010 - An analysis released by Vision California shows that constructing communities near transportation, schools, work and recreation could significantly diminish pollution. Senate Bill 375, approved in 2008, requires regional agencies to meet certain guidelines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. June 24, 2010 -
Downtown Honolulu will cut carbon emissions and its use of harmful refrigerants by implementing seawater air conditioning. Frigid deep sea water will be transported through a piping system and used to cool buildings in the city. If the process proves successful, the method could be extended to Waikiki. More
