Description: The event will focus on preparing the recreation area for opening day but will also include trail maintenance, frisbee golf course installation, tree identification trail, camp pad rehabilitation and park bench installation.

Description: This month the San Diego River Park Foundation's Clean and green team will focus on the part of the river located near Big Rock Road and Mission Gorge in Santee. Volunteer teams have documented trash and debris in the fragile river habitat as a result of illegal dumping and debris from the 52-freeway.

Join the community and the team to create a better and cleaner future for our river and our neighborhood. Volunteers will meet in the field next to the Santee Equestrian center at 7980 Mission Gorge Rd Make sure to dress for working outdoors including closed shoes (no sandals please!) a hat and sunscreen are also highly recommended, we will have all tools and supplies. Groups and families are encouraged to join us. Community service hours verified.

Event Title River Cleanup at Rancho Mission Road

Description: The San Diego River Park Foundation’s Clean and green Team will hold a river cleanup event to help remove trash and debris from the San Diego River east of Qualcomm Stadium. Please help us take back our river and save it from illegal dumping. This is a great activity for people interested in clean water and a clean habitat for the plants and animals that call the river home. All tools and supplies are provided.

Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops allowed for safety reasons. Volunteers will meet in the 24hour fitness parking lot at 5800 Ward Rd San Diego, CA 92108 under the trolley stairs.

Description: The Friends of the San Diego River Mouth, a chapter of the San Diego River Park Foundation, needs volunteers with an interest in helping to save and restore one of the last remaining Coastal Dune and Wetland Habitats in San Diego. Over 95% of these habitat areas are now gone due to development. Home too many endangered birds, fish and mammals this area needs your help to remain as a viable habitat area.

An educational walking tour will be included. All are welcome even if you can’t stay to help us with the project. Activities to include invasive plant removal, native plant rescue, trail maintenance and litter removal. Help us make a difference for the wildlife that can only survive here and nowhere else. All tools and supplies are provided. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops allowed for safety reasons.

Volunteers will meet in the grassy area just inside the Dog Beach parking lot in Ocean Beach at the western end of Voltaire Ave.
