The Air Guard offers many federal benefits/entitlements to their unit members and their families such as the Base Exchange, Commissary, use of Morale Welfare and Recreation facilities, and up to $400,000 life insurance at reduced rates. You can also take advantage of Tricare Reserve Select Health Insurance and Tricare Dental. Both of these Health Insurance programs offer low cost premiums that round out the benefits necessary for you to maintain good health.
Federal education benefits through the Montgomery G.I. Bill are available to most unit members provided they enlist for 6 years. These benefits are available to our members after completion of basic training and technical school. This program is a non-contributory benefit, meaning no payment or reduction in pay is required to receive these benefits. Federal benefits received: Montgomery GI Bill chapter 1606; up to $329 per month to offset college cost of attending college fulltime.

$163 per month for 6-8 credits
$82.25 per month for 3-5 credits
* Advanced pay grade to Airman First Class (A1C/E-3)
* $219.96 per drill weekend

Attend any other Pennsylvania school and receive over $5,554 per year for up to 4 years, full time. Receive $2,777 additional if you choose to attend summer classes. It all adds up when you combine the Assistance Program with your GI Bill ($329 per month). You could go to college practically tuition free.
Gwynedd-Mercy College awards a yearly scholarship of $6,000 to full-time undergraduate students who are active members of the Pa. Air National Guard. In addition, students receive up to $5,554 per year from the Pa. Education Assistance Program. Part-time students receive a scholarship equal to 33% of the part-time tuition. Earn your degree while training in the Air National Guard
Graduation from basic military training earns you 4 semester credit hours and automatically registers you into an associate of science degree program designed specifically for your Air Force specialty. You also earn semester-hour credits for entry-level, advanced and skill-upgrade training. Completion of Airman Leadership School, the NCO Academy and Senior NCO Academy earns you additional semester-hour credit.
The Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) documents your training and education with an official transcript and affords you the opportunity to obtain an associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution. They offer associate of applied science degrees in the following 5 broad career areas:
* Aircraft and missile maintenance
* Electronics and telecommunications
* Allied health
* Logistics and resources
* Public and support services
The CCAF degree program requires a minimum of 64 semester hours consisting of: physical education, technical education, general education, leadership, management, military studies and electives. The CCAF is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. They accept credit in transfer for courses completed at regionally accredited civilian colleges and universities.
