Ambassador Corbin Visits Petroleum Institute
Ambassador Michael Corbin visited the campus of the Petroleum Institute (PI) on February 11 where he engaged in a wide-ranging discussion with female students from the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program. He also toured the Arzanah female campus and laboratories and subsequently met with a small group of American faculty-including Kate Broderick, a U.S. Fulbright student researcher hosted by the Institute for the 2012-2013 academic year.

U.S. Embassy and Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation Open 'Crossing Generations' Exhibition
On February 3, 2013, the United States Embassy to the United Arab Emirates, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, opened a new art exhibition at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Michael Corbin. The exhibition, titled Crossing Generations: A Selection of Emirati and Arab Contemporary Art from the ADMAF Art Collection, brings the work of six Emirati artists together with artists from Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, and Libya.

U.S. Ambassador Hosts Reception at Khalifa Port on the USS Rushmore
On Sunday, January 27, the United States Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Michael Corbin, hosted his first shipboard reception at the Khalifa Port on the USS Rushmore for senior UAE officials, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps. In his remarks, Ambassador Corbin noted the overall strength of the U.S.-UAE bilateral relationship, as well as the importance of strong military-to-military ties within that relationship.

New Year, New Visa Services: Easier, More Convenient Appointment System for U.S. Visas
Abu Dhabi, December 4, 2012 - The United States Mission to the United Arab Emirates is transitioning to a new appointment service for anyone applying for a non-immigrant visa to the United States. Starting January 6, 2013, applicants will work, online or by phone, with a service provider to schedule an interview, pay the visa application fee, and arrange for the delivery of documents and passports. This new appointment service will also allow applicants to schedule a visa interview with more flexibility and up to six months in advance of travel plans.
