President Obama Most Admired Man In America

He’s not only the president, he’s also the most admired man in the United States.  For the third year in a row, a USA Today – Gallup poll has found that Barack Obama is more admired than other notable world figures including former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama.

The survey was conducted between December 10-12, and is based on telephone interviews with a random sample of 1,019 adults.  It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Participants were asked to name the man and woman living anywhere in the world they most admired. 22 percent of responders named President Obama as the man they most admire, enough to give him the title of most admired, but down from his 32 percent in 2008 and 30 percent in 2009.

The most admired woman is Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who has held the title 15 times since 1992.  17 percent of responders this year named her, with 12 percent naming former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and 11 percent naming talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

  1. Are you serious? You’re letting 1019 people decide who’s the most admired person in America???? Did they “all” live in Chicago???

  2. Indeed, He is actually a really popular President not only in the US but here abroad as well. He is famous because HE is the first black president of the most powerful country in the world , which represents freedome around the World. I think that is really big inpact sent to the whole world , that only in America it is possible. We have to admit that in any other countries there are still a lot of barriers to brake down. Only the US has succeeded in that perspective.

  3. Yes, he is, of course. He is a great President of States, he does all he promises and the First Lady is so “class”, very admirative I am. Thank you so much to be yourselves, so approchable too. Happy holidays, and Happy New Year.

  4. I wish you have time to carry out your tasks.
Love to all of you at the White House and in the whole country.
    Kindly regards

  5. Indeed, Barack Obama is admired in France also! Our Président is compared to a dwarf. It is normal , he is not really social and a lot of scandals are a problem for his credibility.

  6. glad to see it…i had lost all trust in elected represtatives…all blah blah…nothing for the little people…so for me,listening to what he says & reading his books…especially on his childhood, i have begun to trust & respect…also, his wife & it;s special to see the genuine affection in their family…real good stuff…thanks for the opportunity to say so.

  7. This is a joke. This man has buried us in debt that our great great grandchildren will be paying off. (Debt caused by Bill Clinton) He has done nothing to bring a swift end to the war. He has shoved a health care program down the throat of the American people that we the people said no to. Please tell me how can anyone admire a man who has done nothing to improve the American way of life.

  8. Hello,
He’s really popular in france, and the First Lady also.
Happy New Year’s Day, best wishes for all of you.
    Best regards.
    Friendship.
