Description
Provides an overview of DoD Directorate 5000.1 and DoD Instruction 5000.2 as well as acquisition processes involved with systems engineering, test and evaluation, acquisition logistics (including reliability, maintainability, and availability), and contractor operations and test reporting.
Objectives
  • Describing how the Defense Acquisition System enables DoD to make choices concerning weapons development and procurement.
  • Explaining the interface between Logistics and Systems Engineering
  • Distinguishing the characteristics and describing the role of reliability, maintainability, availability and supportability on the future logistics support of a system.
  • Identifying the role of Test and Evaluation and Logistics Test and Evaluation in the Systems
  • Engineering process.
  • Describing the roles of the contractor and government representatives according to service instructions. Identifying the various types of test reports used as a result of test and evaluation activities.
  • Target Attendees
    Personnel participating in Logistics Test and Evaluation for the first time and are unfamiliar with the DoD Acquisition processes.
