Help Make 2013 Green

Are you thinking about getting more involved with your school or community for the New Year? You can make 2013 your year to shine as an environmental steward! Here are just a few of the many things you can to do help make 2013 sustainable:

1. Join the Environmental Action Club or Recycling Club in your school.  If there are none, start one yourself!  

2. Use social media! Start an environmental campaign through Facebook, tweet about your recycling efforts, post photos of a park clean up to Instagram!  Everyone will “like” it.

3. Talk to your teachers about environmental topics you want to learn more about.  Learn about climate change, different ecosystems, and global warming.  Maybe one of these topics could turn into a science fair project.

4. Prepare for spring!  Although it seems far away for many of us, spring will be here before you know it.  Plan a day to plant flowers in your community and get your bikes ready!

5. Ask your teachers about field trips your class could take.  Is there a park or lake nearby that needs to be cleaned up? Get your whole class out there to make a difference!
