Please note that all Traffic Safety classes are fully funded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) . Course Description

Purpose:  The Highway Safety Data Analysis and Evaluation Course is designed to educate Highway Safety Professionals on the Highway Safety Management process and subsequently how data, data analysis, problem identification and evaluation fit into that process. 

Course Description:
The Data Analysis and Evaluation (DAE) course is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and hosted by the National Traffic Safety Division of the Transportation Safety Institute.
Data Analysis and Evaluation is a key element in the Highway Safety Program process.  This course highlights invaluable experience with best practices and detailed knowledge of the five steps in the management process cycle, the NHTSA six pack for qualities of good data, and traffic safety evaluation methodology.  Participants will learn to identify and locate  the various data available to isolate specific information in problem ID in order to develop effective countermeasure programs.  By building on your knowledge and understanding of the core performance measures, participants will be better prepared to set goals and evaluate their effectiveness.

People and partners involved in the SHSO’s traffic safety programs and projects including Law Enforcement,  Communications personnel, Advocacy groups and other stakeholders.
