This course covers basic turbine engine accident investigation techniques of civil and public general aviation and air carrier accident field investigations. It contains design, operation, and construction features of turbojet, turbofan, turboprop, and turboshaft engine utilized in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. This course also provides an in-depth look at failure modes and mechanisms of turbine engine components: fan, compressor, combustion chamber, turbine, exhaust, shafts, bearings, gears, and accessories. This course provides for 8 hours of Inspection Authorization (IA) Refresher Training accredited for IA renewal under Title 14 CFR part 65, ยง 65.93 (a)(4)
