Our goals are:

  • To provide a safe and confidential reporting process that ensures that victims of sexual assault receive access to the services they need in order to help them recover mentally, physically and emotionally.
  • Ensure that every Soldier and Airman understands the reporting process.
  • To facilitate a unit climate that does not tolerate sexual assault and promotes the sensitive handling of victims.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response sealIn accordance with Department of Defense, U.S. Army and National Guard policies, Florida National Guard leadership recognizes the importance of working to prevent this crime within our Guard community. The Florida National Guard is working to develop a comprehensive program that strengthens military readiness by preventing sexual assault, enhancing victim care and improving system accountability.

The SAPR program provides victims with options for reporting sexual assault incidents, including the option to file a restricted report, allowing them access to resources and assistance, without initiating an investigation, all while maintaining the confidentiality of the victim. Recognizing the importance of prosecuting those individuals accused of sexual assault, the Florida National Guard will make every effort to ensure that victims who wish to report and prosecute an assault have access to every available resource to do so.

It is every Service member’s duty, regardless of rank or position, to protect their Battle Buddy and Wingman. We must all understand the importance of safely intervening and preventing the crime of Sexual Assault.
