Description:

The purpose of the research program on Families of Children with Disabilities (Families) is to identify effective strategies for improving family involvement in the education of their child with a disability and family support of their child with a disability in ways that ultimately improve educational or transition outcomes for students with disabilities from kindergarten through Grade 12.1

The long-term outcome of this program will be an array of tools and strategies (e.g., assessment tools, programs, services, interventions) that have been documented to be effective for improving family involvement and support of children with disabilities in ways that ultimately improve educational or transition outcomes of students with disabilities from kindergarten through Grade 12.

1 Applicants interested in research on families of infants, toddlers, and preschool children should refer to the Early Intervention and Early Learning in Special Education topic.
