2/13/2013 - SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Tech. Sgt. Tim Raines of the 365th Training Squadron was named the the 82nd TRW "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award winner for the week of Feb. 11-15.

The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program.

Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership.

Years of service and time on Sheppard: 10Years TIS/ 2 years, 9 months on Sheppard

What inspires you: Taking care of the Airmen and my family.

Future goals: To make master sergeant, finish my masters degree and attend the first sergeant academy.

Greatest accomplishment:  My children

Hobbies, off-duty interests: Riding my Harley and coaching our daughters in sports.

Reason for submission: - Sergeant Raines has stepped up into the vacant First Sergeant billet and has performed like a seasoned shirt. In the last couple months, he has transitioned from the class room to the role and has the best turnaround time for Article 15 processing time by being 6 days below the wing average. Also he executed a no notice morale and welfare check of the dormitory to ensure the safety of the 600 residents. He is also active within the community by raising $500 for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Commander's comments: Tech. Sgt. Raines has phenomenal drive and motivation. A diamond is in his future. He makes a commander not mind waiting his turn for a new shirt to be assigned. Not many people would step into the fire of shirt duty, especially at a training base. Sergeant Raines did it without any reservation. We need more like him. - Lt. Col. Anthony Antoline
