2/12/2013 - HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The 367th Training Support Squadron's design of a distance-learning website has won them an Interactive Media Outstanding Achievement Award.

The IMA Outstanding Achievement Award is given by the Interactive Media Council, an organization of leading web designers who judge websites based on professionalism, planning and execution. One of the big benefits of winning the award is gaining a boost in marketing and exposure of the website.

Team members who contributed to the website design were Master Sgt.'s Michael Thibodeau, Christian Gott and Jeremy Kell; Tech. Sgt. Jeremiah Clayton; Staff Sgt. Garrett McCullough; and A1C Daniel Callahan.

The 367th TRSS, which is part of the 782nd Training Group based at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, started out to simply make a site easy to navigate.

"Our initial intent was to make the site user friendly," said Gott, 367th TRSS flight chief and project manager.

Receiving the award has been a morale boost for the unit as well.

"It validates our effort and the work we've done," said Maj. Michael Bliss, 367th TRSS commander. "To service and direct people was our main goal."

The aim of the website is meant to provide the user something that is easy to navigate.

"Three clicks, no more," Bliss said when referring to his motto for the project.

The website, meant to make distance learning accessible for those at the squadron, also serves as a tool to mold certain skill sets into Airmen.

"In six months we can train you," Gott said. "We get people to contribute to the bigger Air Force."

Bliss cited aggressive training plans, willingness to expand into other areas and being prepared to invest in the project as major factors of success.

"Our team is making the mark," Bliss said.

The focus of the project was on the process of making the website functional for Airmen who would be utilizing the program as opposed to winning the IMA Outstanding Achievement award, Gott said.

"The objective is our customer," Gott said. "Our job is to produce relevant training."
