Proposed Increase of NIH Data Center Rates for Fiscal Year 2009Proposed fiscal year 2009 rates for CIT services are under review by the NIH Office of Financial Management (OFM). Each year CIT reviews its rates for all services provided, including those by the NIH Data Center. We evaluate the costs associated with our various services and adjust rates accordingly. We strive to provide a high level of service and we value our customers. Proposed rate increases in FY09 For many years CIT was able to deliver NIH Data Center services and hold our rates steady. There have been substantial improvements to the NIH Data Center environment to meet the challenges of 21st century science and research, including investments in more energy-efficient equipment, improvements in security, and changes to improve our reliability. However, since we operate on a cost-recovery basis, we must adjust our rates for the fiscal year 2009 to recover the actual costs of serving our customers. The NIH Data Center is subject to the same economic forces as seen in other sectors of the economy and the escalating cost of doing business has forced us to re-evaluate our charging schedule. Where to find the proposed rates The NIH Data Center's fiscal year 2009 rates (proposed) will be available on the Data Center Rates page. This site will be updated whenever rate changes are approved. Major rate adjustments will continue to be announced in Interface.
