  • Sealed with Love Forever Stamp

For nearly 40 years, the LOVE stamp series has featured a wide range of subjects, including flowers, Victorian lace, cherubs, swans, candy hearts, and abstract designs. This year's love stamp, Sealed with Love, features an illustration of an envelope flap fastened with an elegant wax seal.
The Sealed with Love stamp is being issued as a Forever® stamp. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail® one-ounce price.

First day of issue: January 30, 2013 Loveland, CO

  • Putting Heart to Paper

In the Victorian era, seals acted much as a signature does today. In a letter, it identified the sender and provided some assurance of privacy. It was also a way to express emotion, with various shades of wax denoting the degrees of intensity felt by the sender.

  • Designed for Romance

Recalling the romantic act of sending love letters, graphic designer Louise Fili worked with art director Derry Noyes and illustrator Jessica Hische to create the Sealed with Love stamp. The seal, in shades of red, is a small heart enclosed inside a larger heart, both surrounded by a graceful filigree circle. The exquisite delicacy of the stamp art invites us to send our own love letters, a romantic gesture that never goes out of style.

  • 14 Days of Love Letters

The U.S. Postal Service® and the organization More Love Letters want to challenge you to spread the love through letter writing. More Love Letters is a worldwide organization of letter writing advocates born from founder Hannah Brencher's realization that letters can truly make a difference in the lives of everyone. So we're challenging you to write one handwritten letter a day for 14 days in February. Go ahead, you're going to love it.
