Questions > FAQ Topic

Does the 908th Airlift Wing provide tours to the public?

Base tours educate the public about Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base's unclassified missions. The 42nd Air Base Wing, the host unit on Maxwell Air Force base, offers tours to the public. These tours are especially designed for groups visiting Maxwell AFB and generally incorporate a walk through of a 908th Airlift Wing C-130, if requested.

Groups interested in touring Maxwell AFB should contact Air University Public Affairs at (334) 953-2014. Groups interested in arranging to view a C-130 separate from a base tour, can contact the 908th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office at (334) 953-6804 or via fax (334 953-6355) or e-mail: southern.flyer@maxwell.af.mil

Groups should contain at least 15 people. Requests for groups containing school aged children will be evaluated with primary consideration given toward child to escort/chaperone ratios that ensure safety and safeguard our mission-essential assets.
