transfer from combat arms to medical

I'm currently a 1LT soon to be CPT in combat arms. I want to pursue a career as a dentist. Does the army still offer programs where you stay in the army but go to school? I've heard it called ADSO where you owe them 2 days of service for every day in school but it's paid for and you continue to make active duty pay. If anyone has information regarding this it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm a Medical Service Corps Officer. For you to become an Army Dentist. You will have to finish your commitment and leave the military, get your DDS, and commission into the Dental Corps. The Army allows, social workers, PAs, and MDs to go to school while serving. Your ADSO is what you owe the Army for allowing you to go to school. This won't apply if you leave to go to dental school.

    Best of luck!

Quick question Captain, Since you are in the medical service field, I know at MEPS they did not check my dental records. I know that during Basic I will be given an entire mouth X-ray. I have a lot of dental work done (5 crowns, root canals, and some fillings) Would you suggest that I bring a letter from my dentist stating everything that was done before shipping to Basic training? Because I recently fixed all the teeth that needed to be fixed so I would not have to fix them at Basic. Thank you for your time.
