In 1775, our Founding Fathers established the Continental Army.  Over the past 237 years the U.S. Army has become an elite fighting force charged with protecting America and her interests at home and abroad.

It is because of the sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform that America became the greatest civilization known to man – and we owe them all great debt of gratitude.

I work for the people of Utah, which is home to Dugway Proving Ground and the Tooele Army Depot.  The soldiers who work there are some of the most impressive people I’ve ever met.

From studying the effects of biological and chemical weapons to maintaining and distributing critical munitions, these bases play a pivotal role in American national security.

To the men and women of the U.S. Army and their families, congratulations on 237 years of keeping our country safe.  Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and all you do to protect a most grateful nation.
