Belleville Family Medicine Clinic
1. SCOPE OF CARE/SERVICES PROVIDED: The Belleville Family Medicine Clinic (BFMC) provides care and services to over 8400 Tricare beneficiaries and is the largest clinic at Scott Air Force Base. The clinic offers services to a population ranging from newborn to geriatrics. BFMC is part of a civilian-military Family Practice Residency Program and collaborates with other entities to include St Elizabeth Hospital, Southern Illinois Health Foundation and St Louis University. The BFMC is a Geographically Separated Unit (GSU) located at 180 South 3rd Street, Belleville, Illinois, 62220. All appointments can be made by calling the Central Appointment Desk at (618) 256-9355 (WELL). The clinic offers a wide variety of specialty care services to include Acupuncture, Sports Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy and Cervical Dysplasia Screenings/Prevention. In addition to routine visits, there are walk-in hours for Throat Cultures, Immunizations, Injections, Blood Pressure Checks, Urinary Tract Infections, Dressing Changes, Urine Pregnancy Tests, and Medical Authorization Paperwork.
2. TYPES OF PROCEDURES PERFORMED: Minor procedures conducted in the BFMC include the following: wart and mole removal, skin biopsies, toenail removals, joint and burse injections/aspirations, Intrauterine Device insertion/removal, Implanon insertion/removal and Endometrial biopsies. More invasive procedures include colonoscopies and vasectomies. Pap smears, colposcopies and acupuncture are also done at the BFMC.
3. Hours of Operation: Monday, Thursday & Friday (07:30 am-5:00 pm), Tuesday (07:30 am-8:00 pm), Wednesday (07:30 am-noon/1:45-5:00 pm)
4. Walk-in Hours: Monday-Friday (09:00 am-11:00 am & 1:30 pm-3:30 pm) except Wednesday afternoons and the afternoon of the 2nd Thursday of each month.
