VA is truly committed to enhancing the employment and advancement of Veterans with disabilities, who make up nearly 10 percent of VA employees. We strive to create a workplace environment where all employees are valued and respected. VA works hard to quickly identify and address any barriers to ensure equal employment and opportunities for Veterans by:
Hiring and retaining talented employees with disabilities at all levels of the VA workforce
Providing accommodations and modifications to allow employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their jobs
Removing any barriers to equal employment of people with disabilities at VA
Educating managers and supervisors on their responsibilities to accommodate employees with disabilities

Veterans with service-connected disabilities can find resources like vocational counseling, evaluation and rehabilitation services, independent living opportunities, job training and more.
