JOB SUMMARY:

 

If you meet one of the following special hiring authorities you may be considered. You must also meet the basic qualifications for the position.

Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA)-This authority allows consideration of any Veteran that is service-connected disabled or separated within the last three (3) years, separating within a 120 days of certification.

30% or More Disabled Veteran- This authority allows consideration of any Veteran with a 30% or more service-connected disability.

Schedule A This authority allows consideration of any Veteran who have a severe physical, psychological or intellectual disability.

Disabled Veterans Enrolled in a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Training Program This authority allows consideration of any Disabled Veterans who has completed training or work under the VA Rehabilitation Training Program and received a certificate of training.

The incumbent performs a variety of food service duties in support of the Nutrition and Food Services. Consistent with food standards, guidelines, and instructions, the incumbent assists with the preparation, presentation and subsequent serving of prepared food items. The incumbent performs duties on the serving line and greets customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Complies with portion control standards as well as sanitation and housekeeping provisions regarding food handling, storage, and serving. Incumbent complies with all safety and health provisions addressing sanitation and food handling. Keeps assigned food areas clean at all times and operates equipment as required and in accordance with instructions. Perform other duties as assigned.

The incumbent must have the ability to perform the work of a Food Service Worker without more than normal supervision. Work requires constant standing, bending stooping, and stretching with frequent lifting up to 45 punds and occasionally over 45 pounds.
