Statement by the U.S. Embassy On the Attack in Kunar

The United States Embassy strongly condemns the attack today in Kunar province that killed 12 people.  This inhumane act shows the brutality of terrorism and a complete disregard for human life. 

Our thoughts and condolences are with those affected by this act of terror.  We commend the brave men and women of Afghanistan who work toward peace and reconciliation daily.  The United States remains firmly committed to working in partnership with the Afghan Government and people, as well as our international partners, to deliver security and a better future for Afghanistan.
