U.S. Condemns Parwan Attacks

The United States strongly condemns the suicide bombing that took place in the Parwan capital of Charikar this morning, killing at least a dozen people and injuring more than 20 others, when gunmen detonated explosives after storming the Parwan Governor’s building.  Our condolences go out to the loved ones of those victims. 

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for this cowardly act against innocent Afghan civilians and the Afghan government.  The United States remains undeterred in standing with the Afghan people against the scourge of terrorism in our mutual aim of promoting peace and prosperity.
