Press Release
Congresswoman will visit Open Hands Outreach in Coolidge, VFW in Casa Grande

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. -- U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., will continue her in-district work period Wednesday with visits to Florence, Coolidge and Casa Grande to meet with veterans, elected officials and community health organizations. Her visits with veterans at the Open Hands Outreach facility in Coolidge and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Casa Grande are open to the press.

Kirkpatrick requested the meetings with Pinal County veterans so she could discuss their needs and priorities now that the 113th Congress is under way. In January, she was appointed to serve on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, along with two of its subcommittees: Oversight & Investigations (ranking member) and Economic Opportunity.

While in Pinal County, the congresswoman will also meet with the Pinal Board of Supervisors and visit the Casa Grande Alliance substance-abuse facility and the Sun Life family health facility. In the coming days, the congresswoman will be visiting communities and holding meetings in Globe, Miami, San Carlos, Safford, Clifton, Thatcher and Tucson.

Kirkpatrick began her in-district work period last Friday and Saturday when she attended the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and later met with Sedona city officials to discuss potential legislation for a National Scenic Area designation for the Red Rocks area. On Monday, she traveled to Window Rock to attend the Navajo Nation Council’s Winter Session.

MEDIA: Rep. Kirkpatrick’s visits to the Open Hands Outreach facility in Coolidge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Casa Grande are open to press.
