Hornbostel celebrates 38 years of service

Col. Meredith Goodwin, commander of the 932nd Medical Squadron, (MDS) presents Senior Master Sgt. Toni Hornbostel the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal at her retirement ceremony held Feb. 9, 2013. Hornbostel has had an illustrious military career that began in 1975. Hornbostel has deployed overseas and participated in numerous exercises and humanitarian missions. She served a total of 38 years--all in the medical services career field. Hornbostel was assigned a variety of medical positions during her time at the 932nd Airlift Wing. She was the senior ART (air reserve technician) at the 932nd Aerospace Medical Squadron for four years; and has been the senior ART for the 932nd MDS Squadron since 2004. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Army Sergeant Major congratulates 932nd AW honor grad

Army Sergeant Major Raymond F. Chandler congratulates Master Sgt. Heather Prokopf for acheiving honor graduate status at the 12-week course offered by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI). Prokopf is the NCOIC of the 932nd Airlift Wing Equal Opportunity Office. Prokopf said the course work broadened her perspective how the U.S. military continues to promote human dignity through diversity and education programs. . NCO off to OTS, flight school

Staff Sgt. Joseph Sobieralksi has plans to return to the 73rd Airlift Squadron in about 16 months as a second lieutenant and begin C-40C pilot certification. He is scheduled to attend the Air Force Officer Training School (OTS) starting next week. Following OTS, Sobieralski will begin undergraduate pilot training. For Sobieralski, having the opportunity to become a pilot and fly the C-40C is quite a career change. He has been a college instructor for several years and most recently, taught at a community college in southern Illinois. Sobieralski holds a masters and doctorate degree in economics. A winning career advisor

Master Sgt. David Noesen is the career advisor for the 932nd Medical Group. In 2009, he was among the top career advisors in the Air Force Reserve Command, achieving a 95 percent reenlistment rate. Noesen says he enjoys assisting his fellow Citizen Airmen achieve their career goals. Prior to become a career advisor, Noesen's first assignment at the Gateway Wing was at the 73rd Airlift Squadron as an administrative specialist. Noesen has been member of the 932nd Airlift Wing since 1998. In his civilian career, Noesen is an evaluator of military entrance processing stations (MEPS)throughout the Midwest. Witte receives Army Commendation Medal

Gen. Mark A. Kyle, commander of Fourth Air Force, presents the U.S. Army Commendation Medal to Staff Sgt. Blake Witte at wing commander's call on Nov. 18, 2012. Witte, an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialist, successfully executed 90 combat missions, helped mitigate 42 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and removed 3,500 pounds of explosives from the battefield, while deployed to Afghanistan.
