Service Academy Nominations

The United States Service Academies, also known as the United States Military Academies, are federal academies for the undergraduate education and training of commissioned officers for the United States armed forces.

Each member of Congress, whether in the House of Representatives or in the Senate, can have no more than five appointees in each of the service academies. California, the most populous state, has fifty-three members of the House and two Senators, therefore becomes the most competitive in seeking a senatorial nomination to an academy.
