Extramural Research Search

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view some of the files on this page. See EPA's PDF page to learn more about PDF, and for a link to the free Acrobat Reader.

These pages are designed to assist prospective applicants as well as recent recipients by conveying key documents that describe the quality assurance, reporting requirements, forms, and FAQs for the NCER STAR grant application and implementation process.

Terms and Conditions

All awarded grants have various reporting, extension, and other notification requirements associated with them. The grant recipient is responsible for complying with these terms and conditions.

Acknowledgement of EPA Support

EPA encourages the independent publication of the results of its extramural research in appropriate scientific journals. Any journal article so published, however, must contain acknowledgement of the appropriate grant number and the following statement:

"This publication was made possible by USEPA grant (number). Its contents are solely the responsibility of the grantee and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USEPA. Further, USEPA does not endorse the purchase of any commercial products or services mentioned in the publication."
The Lead/Contact principal investigator is responsible for ensuring that all members of the project team comply with these acknowledgement requirements.

Policy on Multiple Principal Investigators for Federally Funded Research Projects

Effective May 1, 2008, non-competitive applications and Requests for Applications (RFA) will uniformly allow more than one Principal Investigator (PI) to be identified on research grant and cooperative agreement applications.
