Welcome to Family Readiness

Prior to Deployment

Prior to units deploying the SFRC provides space for units to conduct training classes and seminars. We offer a 4 day Rear Detachment Officer(RDO) certification course which is open to Family Readines Leaders(FRL). For our Family Readiness Groups(FRG) we offer space for meetings with child play area and kitchen for reheating food. We also give our families a chance to familiarize themselves with VTC connections in addition to our standard fax, copier, internet services.

During Deployment

During deployment we offer 1 on 1 assistance for family members, and to help keep our soldiers and families connected we offer VTC sessions by appointment and free internet access (including Hotmail and Yahoo). We also continue to support our FRG's by providing meeting space.

After Deployment

Deploy

When troops return home from deployment we can arrange for ceremonies with color guard and band as appropriate, and a reception area for reunion briefs. We also offer marriage seminars for our soldiers and their families.

Lessons Learned

Family Readiness center computers

Last we would like to leave you with a few things that we have learned during our time.

Preparation efforts taken prior to deployment pay big dividends once deployed.

Utilization of modern technology such as VTC and email reduce stress on both soldier and family.

Programs help build self-sufficiency in families…a soldier and family responsibility.
