Mission

To protect the men and women of the Coast Guard by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and then controlling biological, physical, and chemical hazards in the work place.
Environmental Health

The Division of Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene comprises those aspects of human health, including quality of life, that are determined by physical, chemical, and biological factors in the environment. It also refers to the theory and practice of assessing, correcting, controlling and preventing those factors in the environment that can potentially adversely affect the health of present and future generations.
