Due to the high volume and complexity of its work, the Senate divides its tasks among 20 committees, 68 subcommittees, and 4 joint committees.

Senator Boxer currently is the Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and the Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. 

She is also a senior member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
