When requesting a tour, please contact public affairs by email at the link below.

-- Due to winter weather conditions, base tours are curtailed on the flight line from November through March (resuming April 10, 2013).

-- Tours are held in the mornings beginning at 9 a.m. Afternoon tours may be coordinated as well, but cannot be held on the flight line past 3:30 p.m.

-- All visitors must enter the base through the Westover Road gate.

-- With public affairs coordination and approval, photography is permitted on base tours.

--  In order for the public affairs staff to properly and safely plan and coordinate your tour request please provide at least one month's notice.

Please email 439aw.pa@westover.af.mil with the answers to the following questions.

__ What is the name of the group?

__ How many people (our minimum is 15; maximum is 35)?

__ What is the age range of the group?

__ What type of transportation will the tour group use to get to the base?

__ What areas of the base would you like to visit?

__ Any additional comments/questions?

__ Please provide a cell phone contact number. This is important if the base needs to reach the tour in the event of an emergency or Air Force mission requirement that could force postponing or cancelling the tour.

Please email public affairs for details.

Once your tour date is approved, please remember:

__ Driver's license numbers are required by base security from visitors who are 18 years of age or older (unless they already have a military ID).

__ All vehicles coming on to the base are subject to search. All tours must enter the base through the Westover Road gate, which is located about one mile from Route 33 (Memorial Drive) in Chicopee.

__ Tour groups may range from 15 to no more than 35 people. Popular areas for our tours include the inside and outside of a C-5B Galaxy, the largest aircraft in the Air Force; our maintenance hangar, and the base fire station. Tours generally last about two hours. Arrangements may also be made for tour groups to eat lunch on the base at a recreational area.

__ For safety reasons, children seven years and younger and elderly people are not permitted in the upstairs flight deck of the C-5. This aircraft has extremely steep stairways. Our guests must use extreme care when touring the C-5. Everyone who tours Westover will be expected to adhere to all safety and security guidelines while on the installation.

Thank you for your interest in touring Westover Air Reserve Base.
