The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) of 2009, was established via Public Law 111-5, in February 2009. The Recovery Act provides significant new funding for transportation infrastructure.

The Federal Highway Administration, was instrumental in the success of this landmark legislation. Working with out our state partners, we were able to meet the deadline set by Congress to obligate 100 percent of the Recovery Act Funds.

Over $26.6 billion were committed over 12,000 road, highway and bridge projects across the country.
