Major General Jeffrey N. Colt
Deputy Commanding General 

    Major General Jeffrey N. Colt is a native of Ithaca, New York and a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado. His most recent duty was as the Deputy Commanding General (Support) for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

     Major General Colt served in a range of command and staff assignments including: Troop Commander in the 10th Mountain Division, Company and Battalion Commander in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Squadron Commander in 82d Airborne Division, and as the Brigade Commander of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

      His overseas assignments include: Germany and operational deployments for Operation Prime Chance in the Persian Gulf, Operation Just Cause in Panama, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

    General Colt is a graduate of the Infantry and Rotary Wing Officer Basic Courses, as well as the Aviator Officer Advanced Course.  He is a Command and General Staff College and National War College graduate, where he earned a Master of Arts in Management and a Master of Arts in National Security Studies.

     His awards and decorations include; Defense Superior Service Medal (1 OLC), Legion of Merit (2 OLC), Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Air Medal (V Device 2 ), Air Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Master Parachutist Badge, Master Army Aviator Badge, Air Assault Badge, Ranger Tab, Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge.
