Receiving Updates
The U.S. Consulate General operates a listserv to distribute information about upcoming teacher workshops, programs and readings as well as references to interesting websites and other online resources.
This service is free of charge.
To sign up for the listserv please go to the U.S. Embassy's mailing list website, fill out the form and make sure to mark the slot TEACHERS and all other categories you are interested in.

Magazines and Newsletters
English Teaching Forum
This quarterly journal is "published by the U.S. Department of State for teachers of English as a foreign or second language. Over 82,000 copies of the magazine are distributed in more than 125 countries. The website contains articles from issues of English Teaching Forum dating back to 1993."
American Studies Journal (ASJ)
The American Studies Journal was published for many years by the U.S. Mission to Germany. It is now "published semiannually by the Center for United States Studies at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. Its primary target audience is teachers of English and American Studies in Germany and throughout the world, yet also seeks to engage university-level readers. The e-journal publishes both research articles and articles on teaching methods. Each issue of the American Studies Journal is devoted to a particular theme in American Studies."
Picturing America
is a teacher resource from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH):
"Picturing America is composed of forty, carefully selected works of art spanning several centuries — all by American painters, sculptors, photographers, and architects. ... Picturing America's resources unlock the potential in each work of art to enhance the study of American history, social studies, language arts, literature, and civics."
