Treated Effluent Disposal Facility

Treated non-hazardous and non-radioactive liquid wastes are collected and then disposed of through the systems at the Treated Effluent Disposal Facility (TEDF).  More than twelve miles of polyvinyl chloride piping connects facilities throughout the Site to TEDF’s state permitted disposal basin in the 200 East Area of Hanford.

TEDF has the ability to collect and safely dispose of nearly 2 billion gallons of liquid per year in accordance with its state discharge permit.
