Officer Military Agent

Photo of Officer Agent WorkingAccession into AFOSI as an active duty officer entails competitively boarded processes, which are described in the following process memorandums.

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Cadets:  This board meets to screen released applicants graduating in the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter timeframes. The above link explains the application process.

Air Force Academy (USAFA) Cadets:  USAFA cadets should contact the 8th Field Investigations Squadron/Operating Location-A, USAFA, at (719) 333-3305 for application process questions.

Initial Skills Training (IST) Eliminee Officers:  boards occur for those active duty officers that have been eliminated from initial skills training (i.e., Undergraduate Pilot Training) and have received permission from the IST Board to apply for AFOSI.

Officer Training School (OTS):  These boards occur after each OTS board conducted by Air Force Recruiting Service. In brief, applicants need to coordinate their packages with the local base Education Office (active duty) or Recruiting Office (civilian) and list "71S -- Special Agent" as their number 1 choice for a career field to be considered for AFOSI if selected by OTS.

Cross-Flow Officers: Due to current force management constraints, AFOSI is not currently seeking officer cross-flows.

For additional information, please see the Frequently Asked Questions page or contact Special Agent Eldrick Link, the Air Force Personnel Center's AFOSI Functional, at DSN 665-4457 or commercial (210) 565-4457.
