There are a multitude of resources and services offered by the Airman and Family Readiness Center and other base agencies that will help you to make a smooth transition. Expedite your in-processing to Shaw by attending Right Start. The A&FRF provides a newcomers' briefing, Right Start, twice a month. Informative briefings and an Information Fair give you all the information you need to get a "right start" at Shaw.
The A&FRF also participates in the First Term Airmen Center briefings. These two briefings provide a warm welcome for new arrivals and an orientation to the local area and local issues. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Free childcare is available for children 5 yrs old and under through Childcare of PSC sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society.
Visit the Airman and Family Readiness Center, in Building 1127, or call (803) 895-1252, DSN 965-1252 for community information and assistance.
