North Country National Trail
Senator Franken sees the North Country National Scenic Trail as one of this country’s greatest assets. That’s why he was proud to cosponsor the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCNST) Route Adjustment Act of 2009 (S. 553), which would revise the authorized route of the NCNST in northeastern Minnesota to include existing hiking trails along Lake Superior's north shore, in Superior National Forest, and in Chippewa National Forest. He believes that it’s time to include Minnesota’s Arrowhead officially as part of NCNST's authorized route.
