Installation & Logistics Intern Program (I&L)

The Installation & Logistics (I&L) Intern Program is for careers in the project management and electrical, power, mechanical or civil engineering fields, supply chain and business management fields.

Architect/Engineering – Individuals pursuing a Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil/structural engineering, electrical engineering (power emphasize) and mechanical engineering will gain valuable work-related experience in a government setting. They will be directly involved with selected NSA facilities construction/renovation projects that will support plant operations, infrastructure planning, design development, standards application, project management services and design drawing assistance.

Project Management – Individuals pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Project Management to gain valuable work-related experience in a government setting will be directly involved with selected NSA facilities construction/renovation projects from design through construction, commissioning, activation, and occupancy. Interns will also be involved in ensuring that projects run according to schedule, are cost effective, and meet customers' objectives.

Logistics –Individuals pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Management. Will be directly involved with global logistics support that meets the needs of NSA organizations worldwide. Interns will provide material management services through acquisition, logistics, storage, distribution and cargo services support to the entire Agency and gain valuable work-related experience in a government setting.

About the Program
The program is a 12-week internship program consisting of direct involvement with selected NSA facilities construction/renovation projects from design through construction, commissioning, activation and occupancy. Interns are also involved in ensuring that projects run according to schedule, are cost effective, and meet customer objectives.

Application Deadlines
Applications are accepted September 1st - November 15th each year.

Salary
Students are paid a competitive salary commensurate with their education level.

  • Students who attend schools in excess of 75 miles from Ft. Meade, MD, are eligible for a round trip airfare ticket to and from school or mileage reimbursement up to the cost of a government-issued airline ticket.
  • Subsidized housing accommodations are available upon request if school is located in excess of 75 miles from NSA main HQs campus

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance
  • Must be majoring in Construction Management, Supply Line Management, or a related Facilities/Logistics field.
  • A cumulative GPA point average of 3.0 is preferred
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be available for an operational interview and other applicable processing between the months of January and April 2013
