Victory for Lion TV Writers, Producers and Researchers

Lion TV executives have agreed to recognize their employees’ vote to be represented by the WGAE. We expect to begin negotiations soon with this non-fiction basic cable production company, which makes shows such as Cash Cab, History Detectives and America Revealed.

Members Overwhelmingly Ratify New MBA Contract

Affected members of the WGAE and WGAW have ratified a new three-year deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Gains made in the contract include significant increases in contributions to the Writers Guild pension plan, increased reuse payments in Pay TV, and increased minimums. Read press release.

Statement on ABC's announced cancellation of "All My Children" and "One Life To Live":

The Writers Guild of America, East issued this statement on ABC's announced cancellation of "All My Children" and "One Life To Live":

 "The WGAE is deeply disappointed by ABC's announcement that both "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" will cease production.  These groundbreaking shows have provided entertainment and enlightenment to millions of viewers, and have provided good employment to dozens of talented, dedicated writers.  We urge the company to reconsider."
