MICA ANNOUNCES SERVICE ACADEMY APPOINTMENTS

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Rep. John L. Mica (FL-7th) today announced appointments to United States service academies. The appointees will join the Class of 2012 at the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
“We can all be proud of these outstanding students, who have been selected because of their potential to make important contributions to our United States Armed Forces,” stated Congressman Mica. “As some of our best and brightest, these young men and women will help meet our Nation’s future national security requirements.”
Each year Rep. Mica has the privilege and honor of nominating 7th Congressional District High School students for acceptance into one of the Nation's military institutions. The service academies accept only the finest applicants who must demonstrate academic and physical strengths, community service and leadership potential. The students interviewed in November of 2007 and, with their appointments, will begin their military education this Summer.
