Author: Hansen, Mark; Jacobson, Keith

Year: 2005

Publication: Balsam boughs: an important Minnesota resource. Misc. Publication 2005. St. Paul, MN: U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Forest Service, North Central Research Station. 6p.

Abstract: Minnesota is a leader in the production of holiday wreaths and greenery, and one of the reasons for its lead is the State's large resource of balsam fir. Boughs harvested from balsam are used in almost all of the wreaths manufactured. This brochure answers several questions about harvesting balsam fir to help bough harvesters get ready for the coming season.
