Incentive: The Section 1603 Grant Program is a renewable energy grant program that is administered by the U.S. Department of Treasury. This program allows taxpayers eligible for the federal business energy investment tax credit (ITC) to take this credit or to receive a grant from the U.S. Treasury Department instead of taking the business ITC for new installations. The program also allows taxpayers eligible for the renewable electricity production tax credit (PTC) to receive a grant from the U.S. Treasury Department instead of taking the PTC for new installations.

Every year over 700 manufacturers, industry experts and MEP field staff join together to learn and connect, bringing the experience back to their organizations and continuing to build a strong & competitive U.S. manufacturing base. Reviews FTZ applications, designates site licenses, and provides information/education concerning how special customs procedures allowing domestic activity involving foreign items may be used in FTZ. FTZ can offset customs advantages available to overseas producers who compete with domestic producers. Helps facilitate and expedite international trade and exports, attract offshore activity and the retention of domestic activity, and create employment opportunities.
