Incentive: The Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is a national network of 60 centers across the United States with thousands of specialists trained to serve the needs of small-and medium-sized manufacturing clients. Through a framework focused on five critical areas – technology acceleration, supplier development, sustainability, workforce, as well as continuous improvement – the MEP Program assists manufacturers in developing new customers, expand into new markets, and create new products with the end goal of increasing profitability and competitiveness.

MEP specialists customize services to fit the individual needs and goals of the local manufacturing client.

Trade - Invest/SelectUSA - Automotive Sector 2013, Feburary 14, in Toronto, is Canada’s auto event of the year leveraged by the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) to help U.S. firms export to the Canadian auto market, and to help U.S. economic development organizations attract Canadian auto supply chain investors. Canada is the largest export market for the U.S., more than China, Mexico, and the UK combined, and the auto sector is one of the largest export sectors.

On January 29, 2013, The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in France, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Paris (CCIP), will host a conference titled “Succeed in America & Go Global: How Your Business Can Thrive in the United States.”  The event will target companies interested in expansion and investment in the United States.

The Commercial Service Moscow office will be conducting a high-level SelectUSA seminar for Russian business leaders on November 13, 2012.

The event will be held at the Ambassador’s Residence, Spaso House, and will feature tax, legal and banking experts addressing an audience of senior Russian business leaders.

USA Investment Center at the world’s largest industrial technology show, the Hannover Fair. The USA Investment Center is a joint pavilion of the federal SelectUSA Program and participating Economic Development Organizations from U.S. states, cities and regions. Over 6000 industry exhibitors and 200,000 trade visitors.

The NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) Comprehensive Grant Program provides funding to eligible proposers to support research involving neutron research and spectroscopy specifically aimed at assisting visiting researchers at the NCNR, developing new instrumentation for neutron research, conducting collaborative research with NIST scientists, and to conduct other outreach and educational activities that advance the use of neutrons by U.S. academia and industrial scientists.

DOC National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Measurement Science and Engineering (MSE) Research Grant Programs offers funding in the areas of:

(1) the Material Measurement Laboratory (MML);
(2) the Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML);

(5) the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL);

The U.S. Commercial Service Germany is organizing a USA Investment Center for U.S. Economic Development Organizations at the Hannover Industry Fair, where SelectUSA will also participate as a speaker and at various events. Through the Center, support for participating EDOs will include a personal assigned trade assistant, a coordinated marketing and promotional campaign featuring the United States as a leading investment location, entry in the USA Investment Center Catalogue, facilitation of industry inquiries, assistance with hotel accommodations (NB: block reservation expires March 12!), participation in networking events and workshops, hospitality and much more.
