WASHINGTON , D.C. – Representative Ann Wagner (R-MO) today issued the following statement as the House of Representatives passed the “Require A Plan Act”:

“Every day hard-working middle-class families and small business owners from the 2nd District of Missouri create budgets, set priorities and live within their means.  Yet Senate Democrats have failed to pass a budget in four years, and once again President Obama missed his deadline to submit a budget on time to the American people.   This is simply unacceptable.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement in reaction to the December jobs report from the U.S. Department of Labor. A net total of 155,000 jobs were created, and the unemployment rate for January rose to 7.9 percent from the 7.8 percent rate previously reported for December.

I still remember working alongside my parents in the family-owned carpet store in Manchester called “Carpetime.” There, they taught me that if you worked hard and lived within your means, the American Dream was at your fingertips. That dream can still be possible for our kids and grandkids, but not if we continue down the path of spending trillions of dollars that we do not have.
