The Operational Safety Plan (OSP):
- assigns responsibility for safe operations
- describes the work to be done
- identifies the hazards and environmental concerns
- and describes maintenance and quality assurance of safety-related systems and equipment.

Relative Size of Pressure Vessels Containing 75K ft-lbs (100ks) Stored Energy
- Vessel with air @ 150 psi, volume 2.8 cu. ft.
- example: 1 ft dia * 3.6 ft. long
- Vessel with water @ 1500 psi, volume 139 cu. ft.
- example: 4 ft dia * 11.0 ft. long
The Safety Note Certifies Mechanical Integrity
A Safety Note is required for all MANNED-AREA pressure vessels and systems
that:
- Operate above 150 psig gas or 1,500 psig liquid, OR
- Contain over 100 kilojoules of stored energy (approximately 0.22 grams of
TNT - consider being hit by a 40 pound suitcase dropped from a second floor
window!)
- Contain toxic or radioactive, or flammable contents
