OLSON STATEMENT ON OCTOBER JOBS REPORT

Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today issued the following statement on the October jobs report that shows the unemployment rate holding at 9%:

"The American economy created a meager 80,000 jobs in October, keeping the unemployment rate at 9%. This disappointing news is further evidence the failed status quo policies of spending taxpayer money to grow jobs simply isn't working. House Republicans have passed bill after bill to provide certainty so that job creators can grow their companies and add jobs to our economy.

"The Senate should take up the Forgotten 15 bills that we have passed in the House with bipartisan support.  Energy production, regulatory stability and access to capital are all components that will provide the certainty desperately needed to grow this economy, produce jobs and increase our federal revenue. Americans need jobs. The time to act is now."
