Every year, more than 12 million Americans enjoy wetting a line in our oceans and along our coasts. More than just a traditional American pastime and contributor to conservation, saltwater recreational fishing is a major economic driver generating more than $30 billion in economic impact and supporting nearly 350,000 jobs nationwide.

Engaging and involving recreational anglers and the recreational fishing industry is the job of the Recreational Fisheries Services Team, located within the Partnerships and Communications Division of the Office of Sustainable Fisheries.

As the direct point of contact for the public, our Regional Recreational Coordinators provide accurate and timely information about NOAA activities and efforts to improve marine recreational fishing through sound scientific management of our marine resources.

The Recreational Fishing Services Team has coordinators in Florida, California and the Silver Spring, MD headquarters office.
