Welcome to the Shaw Air Force Base Legal Office's home page. Our mission is to deliver professional, candid, independent counsel and full spectrum legal capabilities to command and the warfighter, enabling Airmen to provide, project, and sustain combat ready air forces, anytime, anywhere. A significant portion of that mission centers around our providing legal assistance and advice to active duty members and their dependents. We also provide assistance to our retiree community. It is our goal to maximize the accessibility of our services to all members of the Shaw community to help ensure our Airmen and our units are always mission ready to fly, fight and win!
Walk-in legal assistance hours are Monday and Friday 0900-1000 and Wednesday 1300-1400. Will appointments are held on Tuesdays 1300-1500 by appointment only. Powers of Attorney and notaries are available five days a week from 0800-1600. Please visit our website at https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/lass/lass.html for information and documentation prior to coming in for Powers of Attorney, legal assistance, and will appointments. During tax season we also administer a tax assistance center where dedicated volunteers help our service members to complete their tax forms. Please call the legal office for more information.
